By looking at their social media accounts my perception is that Nike would like to be perceived as hip brand while also promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. They are promoting their slogans such as “Looks good, Fits Better”, and “This is just the beginning” (Facebook, 2013). For instance, they are advertising a new line of Lunar+ running shoes. They have posted pictures of this line through Pinterest with a very artistic portrayal of a runner showing just the shows in different settings. (Pinterest, 2013) Nike also provides links of all their current social media accounts, via their twitter, Facebook and Myspace page. While this may seem irrelevant because on may assume one social media site will have all the information needed. However, Nike provides different posts and information on the various social media sites. For example they have an interactive design contest associated with the Twitter account, and alternatively they have embedded YouTube commercials directly on their Myspace account. (MySpace, 2013)

While I do think Nike has done a terrific job using social media, I believe there are areas for improvement. I had to look very hard for any mention of charitable work associated to any of the researched 5 social media sites. Upon further investigation on LinkedIn I found the Nike foundation....
