Exploring The Different Forms And Aspects Of Cheating

881 words - 4 pages

You can cheat everyone for some time and someone for all time but you cannot cheat everyone every time. Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one's own interest, and often at the expense of others, this is what the dictionary says. But the real meaning is far tough to explain. However the definition of cheating is not enough to understand its true nature and its extent in our life and the way it has become a part of our everyday life. Right from the smallest of the kids to the oldest of the men everyone has or have cheated at some point in their lives, the reason for doing so being irrelevant. The impact of cheating can never be estimated but can only be felt by whom who have been cheated. Well Cheating in any form or manner or any situation is not acceptable whether is monetarily or morally as it implies breach of someone’s trust.
There are various or you can say even indefinite areas where you can cheat/be cheated, right from cheating in your exams, to cheating in your workplace, to politicians cheating the Tax payers, to an athlete cheating in sports competition, to filmmaker cheating/plagiarizing the story of another, to wife cheating on husband, to cheating in a game, to cheating ones friends in believing something, to some investment schemes, cheating the investees of their returns. Well there has been no area of one’s life untouched by cheating. The term moral means of pertaining to, or concerned with the principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and wrong; ethical .Thus morality has nothing to do with law but everything to do with one’s own principles, beliefs and values and what one perceives as right or wrong. Thus the term morality is relative and subjective to every situation.
So even whether cheating morally is acceptable or not is also relative and depends on each individual’s opinion. Well Cheating in any form or manner or any situation is not acceptable whether is monetarily or morally as it implies breach of someone’s trust. Even though it may or may not result in loss of money or income but it does result in breaking someone’s belief in you as also trust. It is the sense of being right or wrong. Well as in the recent scenario of the NJ assemblymen and religious leaders involved in money laundering and corruption, there was not just cheating the taxpayers of their money but also leading...
