Hyderabad. Mumbai. Kolkata. Chennai. Jaipur. Kashmir. Shimla. Delhi - all are names of the beautiful cities of India where I have been to. They were increasing with Shona’s age now. Shona always had a tough time with school as she used to be displaced a lot. Her mother was a consultant for a large corporation who regularly exported their products and new developments overseas. It was Shona’s mother’s job to look after any problems that clients had along with ensuring that they secured major business deals with potential clients which meant that they often relocated when long term projects came up. Most, if not all, had had sex at least once; they wagged, smoked and dressed un-conservatively. The obvious ‘leader’ of the group was Skye and she seemed to give the impression that she liked to push the boundaries.

Once the group reached Shona, Skye said to her “I hear your new here? Do you know who owns these grounds? We Do! So don’t you EVER forget it?” “Oh and by the way your sandwich is vomit and that hair band looks absurd on you!” Shona couldn’t believe how these girls were treating her. She felt much more comfortable since arriving and she certainly wasn’t going to sit there and listen to those girls talk her like that. So she stood up and said to them “I really don’t give care in the world who you think you are but I will not tolerate you insulting me about the food my mother made or the things I wear. So why don’t you rack off!”

That was all it took to set the group of girls off. They all swore to make Shona’s life miserable in the school for the rest of the year. Firstly they pranked her to come late to school due to some festival. Secondly they made her drop her lunch on the floor. Thirdly they started sending her cruel and disrespectful messages to bring her morale down. This all continued for a...
